Sun Life Financial Event with Hunter Mahan

I had the opportunity in early September to photograph Sun Life Financial's golf clinic & meet-and-greet, featuring pro-golfer, Hunter Mahan.  The event was held at Wolf Run Country Club, located just north of Indianapolis and was very intimate, with around 25 people attending.  It was a really fantastic experience; I had never been hired to photograph a celebrity before!  (check that box!)  Hunter was such a nice guy, too.  Thanks again to Sun Life for the hospitality and for providing me with such a unique opportunity!

Here are a few shots from the 1.5 hour golf clinic.

What a beautiful night.

Set and ready - just awaiting Hunter's arrival.
Meet Hunter Mahan.  He's ranked 19th in the world!

Hands-on instruction.

Hunter autographed a hat for everyone that attended.  (my husband was pretty excited when I brought one home for him!)

A huge thanks again to Sun Life Financial.  It was such a pleasure photographing this event!

YogahOMe Run for Shelter Event

YogahOMe Run for Shelter 2012 was a 5K and carnival held on March 31st that benefited Transitions Global. Transitions Global provides after-care homes and long-term care for girls rescued from sex trafficking. While we raised money for a serious cause, the event was anything but serious.

I was honored to not only photograph the event again this year, but to also be an official sponsor.  It was a very proud moment for me - I got my name on all of the event signage, plus the teeshirts! :)  I'm glad that I could be a small part of such an important cause.

Here are a few photos from the event.

The event coordinators-extraordinaire!
Some munchies donated by Panera.
And free, hot tea from Essencha.  It hit the spot on this chilly March morning.
This was the refueling station for all of the 5k runners... and those of us who skipped breakfast :)
The Transitions Global info table - the reason we were all there that morning!
A teeshirt that says it all.
The 2012 event sponsors... see a familiar name under the Carnival Game Sponsors? :)
The ladies from Funke's Fired Arts - pottery painting at it's best!
Some of the 5k runners getting warmed up, just minutes before the race started.
On your marks, get set... GO!
Representing Adventure Boot Camp for Women - they led the pre-race stretching.
While their parents were out running, the kids were back at the carnival winning prizes!
Photo finish with the help of the UC Cheerleaders and Bearcat!

This little girl raised $300+ for the charity and also ran the entire 5k!  Just incredible.
Some post race stretching provided by Move Muscle Therapy and Thrive Chiropractic.
The first, second and third place finishers:
...a very happy (and fast) bunch!
The Bearcat mauling a child.  Juuuust kidding.  I think this little guy is having the time of his life!
And the kids' egghunt is ON!

These medals were awarded to the participants in the Kids Fun Runs.
And one more of this tremendous little girl receiving her award.  Congratulations!!!
Okay, time for a little bragging.  Do you see my name on the teeshirt!
All in all, it was another great event with a wonderful turnout.  Hopefully Transitions' goal was met and and they are able to continue assisting the less fortunate.

Thanks for another fun year!  I loved every minute of it!!!

A Labor of Love

I recently took a break from shooting babies & families to do something quite different.  Becky's mother is a skilled seamstress and has smocked and hand-embellished a dress each year for every granddaughter in her family.  When Becky contacted me, she asked that I photograph the dresses so that her and her sisters could present their mother with a beautiful keepsake for her birthday.  I'm so glad that I was able to be part of this project!  The dresses are truly pieces of artwork - see for yourself.

The hand stitched detailed work was beautiful.
She had even done a few dainty little baby bonnets... how cute are these?!

Thanks again for inviting me to take part in this special project.  I hope that your mom cherishes this birthday present always.

Run For Shelter

I'm excited to be the photographer for the upcoming Run for Shelter event, being held this Saturday, 4/16!  The event benefits Transitions Global, an international non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the lives of girls who have been victims of sex trafficking.

If you're local to Cincinnati, bring your family to Hyde Park Plaza for a morning of fun for the entire family.  The morning includes a 5K run, Kids Fun Run, Diaper Dash, carnival games, egg hunt, a bounce house and lots of smiles!

Liz's Baby Shower

One of my very best friends, Liz, is expecting!  Her little nugget is scheduled to arrive right around Christmas, so it should be a holiday to remember.  Here are a few of the shots I took at her baby shower a few weeks ago.  I can't wait to meet your little girl!!

I'll start with some of the pretty details...
Liz with her mother-in-law, Nancy.  Nancy and her daughter, Julie, hosted the shower!

I always love the wrapping paper at baby showers.  Okay, I admit it.. that's my gift on the right! :)

Let the gift-giving begin!

The baby will be very well-dressed, that's for sure!

The hippest diaper bag ever!

Pregnant women were everywhere!  (I was told not to drink the water!)
Angie and Liz on the left - Julie (the other hostess!) and Liz on the right.

More family and friends - everyone is so happy :)

And, I'll end the post with a friends photo.
Awe, Liz!  I miss you and love you so much!  I can't wait to meet your little girl SOON!
A big thanks to Julie and Nancy for hosting such a lovely shower - it was lots of fun!
